83 Percent of Dieters Pig Out on Weekends, Ruin Weight Loss Efforts A new survey finds that a whopping 83% of dieters pig out on the weekends and sabotage their weight loss efforts. Most people who cut back on their calories during the work week, but throw caution to the wind, come Friday. In just two days, they can consume up to 10,000 calories -- which amounts to half of their daily intake. The biggest offenders: after-work cocktails, greasy hangover breakfasts and big family dinners with second helpings. Seven in 10 dieters also say they have food -- most often pizza -- delivered to their home on the weekends.
