A 16 year old Arctic Wolf underwent major abdominal surgery at the zoo on Saturday. Dr Bergmann & Dr Paluck performed the nearly 2 hour surgery. The wolf has recovered nicely and was up and walking within an hour. Now we are awaiting test results for her prognosis. The zoo was pleased we could provide a first class sterile operating area. Sanosil International donated the use of an industrial fog sterilization machine that sterilizes operating rooms and laboratories. PPZ is the first to use the Sanosil system for veterinary care thanks to their donation. We were happy to be able to put together a team that offered care at the highest level for our wolf.
