A 23-year-old woman who fled the scene where she fatally struck a bicyclist, going to meet a friend at a club and then telling authorities her car had been stolen, is expected to be sentenced to two years in prison. The victim, U.S. postal worker Jesse Dotson Jr., was riding to work in Gardena when he was struck by Vanessa Marie Yanez, the daughter of an LAPD sergeant. The decent thing would have been to just stop and check him out. Call somebody. Get some help for him. He might still be here now, Dotsons brother said when Yanez was arrested.
