A CRIPPLING DISEASE ------------------------------------------------------------------------ There is a crippling disease in Christianity that some believers have contracted. It doesn’t have a proper name but I would like to call it “spontaneous goditus.” This is where a Christian becomes so Holy as to begin thinking that they have the same prerogatives as God. They start creating new rules and new morals and new condemnations where God did not. They add to God’s list of sins so as to condemn those who they think are sinners. And some even permit what God forbids. They stand in the place of God to alter what God has not changed. Maybe you have seen someone who suffers with the symptoms of this disease. 1) Some of the symptoms may manifest as attacks on divorcees and remarried couples. Without any knowledge or understanding of their particulars (((not that it is any of their business))) or without any revelation from God, they call divorced and remarried couples sinners and treat them as if they committed an unpardonable sin – not acknowledging God’s rule of exception regarding divorce nor The Supremacy of God’s Love in the couple’s private matter. 2) Another notable symptom is that they tend to twist God’s immutable and unchanging Word to mirror political correctness and gender equality when God has already established the roles for woman and the roles for men within the Body of Christ and the covenant of His Salvation. But they will justify, via corrupt scriptural interpretation, their placement of women in a role that God ordained only for men. Spontaneous goditus is contagious and is spreading rapidly throughout Christendom and is severely crippling our efforts to reach the lost and hungry souls of those who would be saved. The disease is facilitated by spiritual bigotry and an assumption of knowledge where no knowledge has been given. However, we are not intended to understand everything about God and His Way and neither can we know anything about God apart from divine Spiritual revelation. We are only expected to Trust and Obey God – not to second-guess God. A legitimate divorce in the early 1st century Church of Jesus Christ carried with it the inalienable right to remarry within the body of Christ. To say otherwise is to remain in darkness and in the grip of Satan’s deceptions. In addition, God placed man as head over woman in the Christian home as well as in the Church of Jesus Christ. To say or practice otherwise is to remain in utter ignorance and under the influence of Satan’s deception. REPENT! ~ Bishop O.W.
