A Roman Catholic source says Christendom is indebted to the Catholic Church for the institution of Sunday as the Sabbath day but there is no precedent in Scripture, nor commandment to observe the Sunday as the Sabbath ( Our Sunday visitor, 4 January 1931), In keeping Sunday non catholics are simply following the practise of the cathloic church for 1800 years ( Babylonian sun worship) Sun - day the day of the venerable sun. If we say every day a day to the Lord then according to the commandment of Sabbath, we have to abstain from work every day as it is written in the the 4th commandment (Exodus 20:8-11) then we would be slothful before the LORD and get no work done. That is why we are told to REMEMBER THE 7TH DAY SABBATH (Saturday). If we come before God and give a offering every day( in accordance to the commandment) or on Sunday are we obediant to the Lawgiver, or are we giving a Cain offering and not an Abels offering. The Sabbath was made for man and not man for the Sabbath it is not a Jewish Sabbath or law but the Lords commandment or Sabbath who is Jesus Christ. Therefore the Sabbath Saturday 7th day is still binding on ALL of those who choose to follow Jesus as He kept the sabbath (Luk 4:16) And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up for to read. (1Jn 2:3) And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. (1Jn 2:4) He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. (1Jn 2:5) But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him. (1Jn 2:6) He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked. even paul kept the Sabbath (Act 17:2) And Paul, as his manner was, went in unto them, and three sabbath days reasoned with them out of the scriptures, (Act 13:42) And when the Jews were gone out of the synagogue, the Gentiles besought that these words might be preached to them the next sabbath. (Act 13:43) Now when the congregation was broken up, many of the Jews and religious proselytes followed Paul and Barnabas: who, speaking to them, persuaded them to continue in the grace of God. (Act 13:44) And the next sabbath day came almost the whole city together to hear the word of God. KJV
