A Unique Australian Sky A Bizarre Cloud Formation Spotted In Australian Skies On November 3, 2014 this interesting cloud appeared in Australian Skies. It may look too perfect to be real, but these images aren’t fakes. They were snapped around 1:00pm on Monday, November 3 in Victoria, Australia, by ABC News audience members. The photos show a rare cloud formation called a fallstreak hole, or a hole punch cloud. Large gaps are formed when water droplets rapidly freeze in types of cumulus clouds. When the droplets are large enough to fall they do so and leave behind a gapping hole like the one in the pictures below.
