A chance for a bit of wintry weather enters the forecast late this weekend. Uncertainty regarding exactly where the freezing line will set up remain, however, a slightly clearer picture is starting to develop. As moisture moves northeast Sunday afternoon, temperatures will likely be a couple degrees above freezing in Southern Illinois. As the atmosphere saturates, a process known as evaporative cooling, may bring temperatures down a few degrees resulting in freezing rain over parts of the area. I dont anticipate a major ice storm by any means, but areas along and north of Route 13 may see at least minor impacts.
