A fact can persist undeterred through generations of humans, and if deterred it later emerges with quite some resolve. With that in mind, we must agree that the reason why facts can prevail for so long is because they are instructive. Knowing the reality of a phenomena can equip us with the sufficient cognizance to make something of it. Hence, we can readily deploy many useful ideas and units of culture (memes) onto the world. (If a “fact” did indeed change it was never a fact to begin with).
