A few weeks from now my final production for my directing MA will be performed...daunting but very exciting! I first read Jack Londons novel The Star Rover about 6 years ago and it hit me pretty deep. I knew immediately that it was amazing material for a stage play, and so this project feels like it has been rather a few years in the making! Some of my friends will recall me talking it up as an idea a couple of years back. To date, there have been two film adaptations of the novel, but to my knowledge no stage adaptations and so I feel a certain privilege about being able to do what I think is the first! Rehearsals began recently and everything about them so far has reconfirmed why I want do do it in the first place. This is most likely the first of many similar posts but I just want to spread the word and encourage people to buy tickets, which are now on sale from the UEA box office. There are just two performances, and they are Thursday 9th and Saturday 11th October. To have people come and support the show would be phenomenal. Also that week is Rob Elliss production The City of Tears. I urge everyone I know to go see his show as well, Ive been doing my MA alongside him and have admired him as a director from day one. Much love x
