A few words from our CEO on the termination of the Adelaide Festival Centre’s Asia Pacific Centre for arts and cultural leadership: Dear all, this is disappointing but not unexpected. We have lobbied hard to retain the funding but ultimately in the tough context of this budget we were not able to get much traction with the office of the Federal Arts Minister. The allocation was initially proposed by Penny Wong under the previous Government and this was for boosting our Asian internship program inbound and outbound, particularly in association with the University of SA. However the cut will have no effect on our current activities, we will continue to actively progress (with Uni SA) our existing but modest intern program, OzAsia, our AAPPAC plans and developing our Shandong links. - Douglas Gautier
