A funny thing happened to me today at the cemetery. Today is the fifth anniversary of my Sweeties homegoing. After the memorial, I wanted to visit her and spend some time alone. As usual, I carried a bouquet of her favorite flowers. There were other cars in the area; but no one was near my parents tomb. Just as I bent to place the flowers in the holders, a womans voice said, eewe, I dont like those. I really dont like those. I almost dropped. Where did that voice come from? Now here I am replying Sweetie, why? I thought these were your favorite? Here I am, all dressed up, kneeling on the ground, clutching this bouquet of flowers and sobbing like a baby. Im sure I was a real sight to behold. Just then, an older woman steps around the corner of the mausoleum and says, Oh, honey, are you alright. Those flowers are lovely. I told my daughter to buy something like those. No she had to buy those cheap flowers from the Dollar Store. Now, she is handing me a rumpled Kleenex and attempting to console me. Honey, she would love those. Honey? Are you alright? My heart rate has finally returned to normal. I have finally stopped shaking. I must admit it took a glass or two of wine. How was your day?
