A landslip occurred on the Kings Highway at Clyde Mountain earlier today closing the road for around one and a half hours. Most of the debris was contained by a safety fence with only a small amount falling on the road. One lane of the highway is now open to traffic and motorists can pass through the site under the guidance of traffic control. RMS expects the Kings Highway to remain open under traffic control tomorrow (Wednesday). Intermittent closures of around 15 minutes are expected while the debris is removed and the stability of the slope is assessed. Motorists are encouraged to allow additional travel time. Due to extreme weather conditions in the area there may continue to be changes to traffic conditions on the Kings Highway at Clyde Mountain.
