A letter from Kevin Cordasco (Senior) to share: Subject: Kevin The Story continues... Hello all, I wanted to share with this very special group that there has been another incredible tribute to OUR incredible young man Kevin. Another shot heard round the world..Another beautiful act of kindness and acknowledgement for the boy that taught us all about living life so gracefully against all odds.. This week, Coldplay released its new album, Ghost Stories..It was dedicated to OUR boy Kevin..As Kevin is all of OURs ... Now he is theirs too.. On the jacket it simply states, This album dedicated to the memory of Kevin Cordasco, A very inspirational young man. It is amazing the way Kevins Story is playing out..The river is winding its way to an ocean....and as I have said before, He is not done. Coldplay played Los Angeles this week.. just prior to going out on their Ghost Stories tour. We were invited to see them and we were able to meet with Chris Martin just before they went on and Thank him for this amazing Tribute. I am again humbled by the kindness and understanding of Chris, the band and Coldplay family. When we sat down with Chris, it is astonishing how calm a man can be a half hour before he goes on stage..So very relaxed..and he was able to make us feel that way.. Myself, Melodie, Cade and Jamie all sitting together in the bands lounge..After exchanging hugs..We thanked Chris for this incredible tribute..It was so comfortable for us all. He looked Cade right in the eye and asked him how HE was doing. You can tell he is a father and understands the balance and compassion for other siblings. I went on to discuss my dreams of turning the world Yellow for a week in the year to benefit childhood cancer, as Breast Cancer did with the color Pink. Jamie asked Chris if he knew what the color of Childhood cancer was..He answered, Why no, I dont...She Said..Yellow, with a smile. Chris said, sounds like that could happen. Then Melodie told Chris that we used the words for Yellow on Kevins service pamphlet... and that the song Yellow, was very special us. Chris smiled and said, Oh boy, we dont have that one on tonight..we will have to see what we can do. He went on and told us that the a part of the album was inspired by Kevin, specifically..The song, A Sky Full Of Stars! ..We talked some for somr time and realized Chris had a show to play and left him to prepare. What a visit! Coldplay took the stage and played for about an hour and a half..Nobody sat down for the entire time. I watched every song through teary eyes and sentimental memories..and thought, this is really amazing. The last song of the night was ..A Sky Full of Stars..Listen to the words..Cause your a sky full of stars. Cause you get lighter the more it gets dark..Cause in a sky filled with stars..I wanna give you my heart,,,I think I saw you..such a heavenly view, I think I see you:) I honestly couldnt see at that point..The stage may as well had been underwater..cause thats what it looked like. And just when you thought it was over..Everything turned Yellow!! Chris stepped up and said, This song is for Kevin Cordasco, who our Album is dedicated to..this is for a special young man whos made a big impact on our lifes. He is not technically with us, but he is with us..This is called Yellow. The crowd roared and the four of us were speechless..The last song...Yellow. Unbelievable, who was this kid from Calabasas, a would be senior, whos impact is now rippling around the world in the Music of Coldplay. Isnt it amazing the connection to Kevin..His legacy, and the color Yellow? We will be attending the graduation ceremony of Calabasas High School, class of 2014..Kevin wanted to be there so badly, he almost made it. But we will see him in every one of them..especially his close friends..and we will be proud to see them all finish this phase of their lives and move on to the next..all having been caretakers in some way for a dear friend so early in life. As time goes on, nothing changes with respect to this loss..with forever a heavy heart, the passion to share this amazing story grows as I gain my footing. I feel like a sheppard, with Kevins Story as my staff..as it....could help or change the life of many others..Just as Kevin did when he was on this earth.
