A major step in our groundbreaking movement to GET THE EXISTING AUTHORITIES WORKING (instead of cynical and misleading populist harping on about mythical animal police that will never happen). APC set up the first stakeholder meeting to support residents of four villages who are outraged at the continual poisoning of dogs, as well as cats. (Moni, Monagroulli, Parekklisia, Pyrgos) On board were Rural police officer, Government Veterinary department and Community leaders of the above four villages. Residents asking for action against poisoning were present. The response of the various authorities was appreciation that APC had at last stepped forward to bring together the sectors who can MAKE change. Sadly ,the bodies of two dogs newly poisoned were brought to the meeting by their outraged (Cypriot) owner. A veterinary advisor noted from the bleeding pattern of one, that glass shards had been included in the bait. The opportunity was offered to residents to form monitoring groups which, if they decide to align with APC, will receive the ongoing support of the Party for Animals. A net can be closed around the poisoners in this way, according to the Veterinary authority. The mukhtar of Pareklissia invited Kyiacos Kyriacou of APC to attend a meeting next week to participate in a discussion on setting up a new dog pound. LikeLike · · Share
