A man is continuing to receive treatment in hospital after he was stabbed in Manchester city centre. A 40-year-old man was attacked in Piccadilly Gardens at about 10.20pm on Monday 24 November 2014. He suffered stab wounds to his neck and stomach and remains in a stable condition in hospital. The offender is described as male, black, between 16 and 21 years old, with scars on his face. Detective Inspector Liam Boden, said: “The man was stabbed with such ferocity that his windpipe was cut and it is fortunate we are not investigating this as a murder. “While we are continuing to explore all avenues in respect of a possible motive what I would say is that this was not a random attack and the person injured was deliberately targeted. “If anyone can help shed light on why that may have been I would urge them to call us. “Additionally, if anyone witnessed the incident and is yet to speak to us or has information about the offender please get in touch.” Anyone with information is asked to call police on 0161 856 3221.
