A massive well done to the organisers and everybody else involved with the running of this event. This was one weekend in July when the Isle of Mull headed to The Mull of Kintyre. 8 cars from the Island made the 2 hour road trip to this event near Campbeltown organised by Dunfermline Car Club. This was a first for a lot of the approx 60 people who had ventured down for the Craic. We were not disappointed , the welcome was awesome and the venue was breathtaking .The whole feeling around the venue was relaxed with excellent stages and not a pot hole in sight. A very rare thing in Argyll. With no Emily the Escort to compete in due to a major refurbishment I purchased a very partly prepared Toyota Celica. Approx. 2 weeks and she was ready for a blast, well as it turned out it was a cruise a very slow one. Some turbo issues at scruitineering, which were resolved by Saturday morning. Thanks to Fergus Gray, Stephen Patterson and Shuggie Wood for there time. My service crew had a mixed weekend ,Hamish came up with the idea of using the top part of a road traffic cone as a 34mm restrictor with some filing and insulating tape it fitted grand . We spent Friday night into Saturday morning at Campbeltown hospital with Steven after he broke his arm . Stewart and Matt got the blame for this after one had cut his left shoe sole to a wet and the other was left as a slick. Kelly hadnt adjusted his tracking and Sheena put the wrong mixture in his fuel tank. Despite the rain late on Saturday afternoon it didnt dampen people spirits. Sunday was a fine day for rallying with temperatures pretty high early on. Thanks for closing the event up so we could get back to Oban for the 6pm ferry home to Mull. Finally a big thanks to my wee girl Amanda for navigating me on her first ever rally and what a rally to be her first .49th o/a was our reward . Next year she says we will be back with the Escort for the 2015 Mach 2 stages.
