A moment of irony happened to me a while back. I just feel like giving a shout out to my sister Amanda Holmes for reminding me of something important. We were talking in the car while I was home for a week and she asked me how I was. Over the course of our conversation, I had mentioned that at the time I felt exasperated with people and just wanted to be away for a while and I am just so tired that I dont have the stamina to keep helping people and needed to focus on me for a while. While these statements were still true, her response was brilliant and God sent (mind you, she is actually a younger Christian and is still just learning a lot of the basics about the Bible, though she has made some awesome and inspiring strides.) She says to me, Ya, I understand. Ha ha, I wonder what Jesus felt like all those times he was so tired and people needed Him to preach and teach and heal and spend time with them. He must of been REALLY tired at the end of the day. I didnt show her at the time, but I was baffled at this. It just made sense. What did Jesus feel? One word... Compassion. I am continually reminded by this memory about going the extra mile simply because Jesus had compassion on people, and asks us to Shine His light, not ours.
