A new week begins a the SkyStation and now the feral cat is out of the picture its back to normal… well normal of sorts for here cause as you know anything can happen at any time! Today my brother Mike arrives a 24hr flying visit for his annual inspection and sign off the awesome solar power station he and Kath gifted me. The system has been running flawlessly and generating power from the sun for 6 weeks now and I have never had to use the generator since saving heaps of petrol!! Just awesome. Sam is behaving like a juvenile delinquent scuffing around outside trying to fool me he is looking for his own food. He is 10 weeks old and fully grown now and fully grown chicks are not allowed to live a home on their mum and dads patch! So 10 days ago Sky and Jeffery started attacking him to give him the message to push off and make his own way in life. Anywhere but here. Its very tough love but Sky is back nesting again and they all cant live and be supported on the same piece of ground. Moving away from home is how Wekas expand and populate. Remember Jeffery and Sky can have up to 4 separate broods a year! So now Sam has taken to living down the bank at one end of the top here and Jeffery and Sky are about 300m away down the opposite bank. Jeffery does tolerate Sam still but only just… Sky has nothing to do with him. So, Sam now shows up at my door whining and looking really sad! Man this is tough! Gee, where will we all live!!! A rat in the trap! Congratulations to the family Renouf family for their sponsored predator trap that caught this 143gm monster :)
