A poem i wrote for my wife. What is love....it is you by Dr John Smith My heart so cold and hard like stone Closed and quiet and always alone Through the days I go with fear That my heart will disappear To freeze like ice to no longer burn To leave my chest and never return The days did pass to leave me bare Of love and happiness I did not care My heart so dark as black as coal For in my chest there is a hole I became a robot no heart but steel For love nor pain I could not feel But then my heart began to burn For love and passion to return Gone are the darkness and the cold My heart so open and so bold To burn so hot, so bright, so true To burn with love, my love for you Youre my best friend and my lover I know this to be true For I wake every morning over Thinking solely of you Your tender touch and gentle kiss A feeling no words can describe Something I yearn for every day When youre at my side A beauty that radiates out From both outside and inside A heaven-sent gift there is no doubt No question the love i cannot hide A passion that penetrates in my soul As deep as a knife you make me whole Im happy I found my loving wife The one and only true love of my life
