A strike force has been formed to continue inquiries into the the death of a woman in Sydney’s west. Strike Force Mandaring is attempting to establish the circumstances surrounding the death of the woman, who is believed to be in her early 30s. A post mortem will be conducted tomorrow (Thursday 28 August 2014), to establish the cause of death. Emergency services were called to Bridge Road at Westmead about 7.30am today (Wednesday 27 August 2014), after a member of the public found a woman’s body in a creek. The body is yet to be formally identified. Officers from Parramatta Local Area Command are continuing their inquiries into the incident; however, it’s still not known if the death is suspicious. Officers have spoken with a number of witnesses and are continuing to canvass the area. Local police are being assisted by officers from the State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad.
