A tribute and Farewell to 5 years of ACSA The time has finally - TopicsExpress

A tribute and Farewell to 5 years of ACSA The time has finally come for me to bid farewell to my active involvement with ACSA as its Master of Liturgical ceremonies. I came to the position for the 2009 Conference in Brisbane, upon the suggestion of Daniel Hill and the invitation of the then president Elise (nee Nalley) Smith. That was during my First year of seminary studies. I have many fond memories from that conference and videos from it may be found on YouTube, which include the only online recording of Help of Christians Guard this Land, ACSA’s Anthem. Since Brisbane 2009, I have organised the liturgies as well as filled an advisory role to the ACSA executive in Albury 2010, Sydney 2011, Melbourne 2012, and Brisbane 2013. These conferences and the lead up to them were filled with many hours of joy, pain, work and fun all at the service of ACSA and those students who attend our conferences. In this farewell, I especially wish to thank the many people who I have had the honour of getting to know and of working with. I wish to personally thank past presidents, Elise Smith, Myles O’Kane, Thomas Horsfall, Justin Gil and Nick Smith for allowing me the privilege of working so closely within ACSA. In a special way I wish to single out Catherine Lanzon, who is a dream to work with, for special thanks. On the ecclesiastic side of things, these five years have enabled me to continue to work with the Legendary Fr Gregory Jordan SJ, who has been an awesome mentor, priest and Jesuit. Stefan Matuzek, who I began my journey to the priesthood with, has been an invaluable assistant in the many stress filled days of past conferences. I would also like to single out the gifted men who have directed our Ad-Hoc Scholas or provided us with their own. These men are Michael Gleeson, Benedict Wilson, Luke Adeney, Ronan OReilly, Richard Lyons and Martin Christopher Hartley. Finally I would like to thank Daniel Hill, Fr Nicholas Rynne and Aaron Russel, who have shaped ACSA to what it is today and allowed my hands to hold and pass on the legacy they have created. ACSA and its annual conference has meant a great deal to me over the past five years. It is now with some sadness that I bid Farwell. I ask for your prayers for me and my vocation, and I particularly ask for you to pray to Our Lady of Jasna Gora. Peter Roman Zielinski ACSA Master of Ceremonies 2009-2014
