A very positive book review from Vampire Romance Books!!!! Check it out! vampireromancebooks/tag/legion-of-darkness/ Legion of Darkness is the second book of The Hunter Everett Chronicles. Being special has laid the weight of the world on young Hunter’s back. His mother’s failing health sends him on a quest that will test Hunter in ways he never imagined. The more I read about Hunter’s character the more I like him. He is so humble, thoughtful, and honest readers won’t be able to help rooting for him. There are other main characters that are equally likeable. Ava, the human friend of Hunter and girlfriend of Riley has an inner strength that shines, and not just by mortal standards. Kyle is a lamia that Ava has befriended, and I find him utterly fascinating. I found myself hoping to see a storyline develop for him in future books. Finally I am going to mention Hunter’s best friend Riley. He definitely keeps the story interesting, but as a person he is quite the egotistical ass. Though he comes through when needed he is that one character I love to hate and therefore would miss him if he was gone! Guardamano has written a wonderful follow up with Legion of Darkness, and I enjoyed it even more than I did the first book. I really admire the fact that the Hunter Everett is a departure from the usual vampire fare. In my opinion it has almost a sci-fi feel to it. Although with the exception to the last part of the book I wouldn’t consider this a fast paced read, but the storyline is so interesting it doesn’t matter. Guardamano weaves a story that is surely going to reach out and grab the reader. The attention to detail is what sets this story apart along with its twists and turns. I was really happy with the way Legion of Darkness ended. It left me hanging in a way that did not disappoint, but instead left me anticipating the direction the series takes!
