A volunteer writes: Carl could have been called Old Yeller. I thought it was just him coming back to earth when I spotted Carl in his arrival kennel... Carl is an older Shepie/Labbie and more..cross. He has beautiful and still clear chestnut eyes that look right into mine, very gently. His muzzle is white and gives him a Beagle-ish appearance. Carl does not howl, though. His coat is flame red, vibrant , well groomed and so silky. He carries himself nicely, walks beautifully by my side and even climbs stairs without problem. Carl is a "clean" boy and eliminates as soon as we leave the care center. Free in a large pen, Carl comes when called, sits on command and welcomes other dogs, males and females coming to say hello through the fence. Carl wags softly his tail in a peaceful demeanor. He is an easy kind of guy, friendly, calm and who loves human presence, seeking caresses and closeness. Carl is a nice dog, friendly, affectionate and calm although still quite lively. He has still a number of good years ahead of him to give and receive love. Carl is at the Manhattan Care Center, waiting to start his life all over with you.
