A while back I declared that the pop music of the 80s was so much more sophisticated and deep than todays pop music. Well - GENERALLY thats true. But since that time, Ive done some research into some of the more obscure pop music of the current time - and Ive been totally blown away by the level of sophistication in some of the music and lyrics Ive found. Of course these arent mainstream radio hits - but they are songs that have come out within the last decade despite the fact commercial radio abhors them. Ill post a few of these Modern Pop Classics from time to time for my fellow fans of classic 80s music. I think these rare examples of exemplary pop music need more exposure!
