AJIMOBI SACKS LGAs CARETAKER CHAIRMEN! Gov. Abiola Ajimobi of APC, in a military style, sacked 7 of the 33 Caretaker Chairmen yesternight. The victims of the executive sledge-hammer are interim LGA chairmen from Oriire, Itesiwaju, Ibarapa East, Ibarapa Central, Ibarapa North, Surulere and Ogo Oluwa. They are to handover to their respective Head of Local Administration pending another illegal installation of his stooges. However, we gathered that the reasons the puppet chairmen were sacked were as a result of poor performance, corruption and for not properly carrying along the first lady, Florence Ajimobi, who is the defacto deputy governor. This latest move by the governor asserts the masses holistic cries that APC-led govt in Oyo State is performing poorly and has lost touch with the grassroots. Meanwhile, the out-of-favour governor can only remove council chairmen without being questioned because he single-handedly and illegally install them. It is our sincerest view that no responsive and responsible govt will take such a silly action based on the aforementioned reasons especially when the 2015 general elections are less than 5 months away.
