ALL SET FOR BATTLE OF THE YEAR NIGERIA BREAK-DANCE CHAMPIONSHIP 2013 Since 2008 when it berthed on the Naija entertainment scene, Battle of the Year Nigeria (BOTY) has congregated the finest b-boys from all over the country in what has variously been described as the fiercest and most authentic breakdance competition in the country. And since then various winners has emerged made impressive representations in the Africa qualifiers and indeed the world finals held in different countries in Europe since 2008, bringing to the forefront one the earliest elements of Hip-hop, B-boying. The 2013 edition which is the fifth edition scheduled for September 8th at the Indoor Sports Hall, University of Lagos is poised yet again to stage another b-boy festival. It will showcase the best dance crews across the country competing for the spot to represent Nigeria and Africa at the 2013 International Battle of the year Break-dance Championship World finals in Braunschweig, Germany on the 19th of October 2013. B boy crews confirmed for show are; Dance Reloaded (Lagos), Floor works (Port-Harcourt), furious fundamentals (Warri), Street Wizard (Lagos), Space Unlimited (Lagos), Body Control (Lagos), X-Force (Lagos), and many more Nigerian rapper and ex B boy, Bright Erighono a.k.a B-Elect, Curtis Baiyee Betek a.k.a B boy Rock Fury from Cameroon and a B boy Champion from France shall constitute the panel of judges. Deejay OZ and Deejay Funky Jay will provide break beats to fuel the b-boy battle. Special guest appearances from Cool Dj Jimmy Jatt, Mr. Raw, Mode 9, Illbliss, Dj Sose, Phyno, B-Elect, Dj Snoop Damaja, Splash, Suspect, Mthrill and many more. Andre Blaze will host the event. Rapmania Tha X will hype the show. Commonly referred to as the ‘’World Cup of Break Dancing’’, Battle of the Year is an annual international break dance battle series that started in Germany.
