AN OPEN LETTER TO MR. SAM NYAMWEYA Dear Sir, Re: WE DONT NEED A FOREIGN COACH. The problem hailling Kenyan soccer is not a foreign coach but lack of consistency in our National tean selection, lack of policy guidelines and poor management structures catapulted by stinking corruption in FKL. In neighbouring Uganda the story is different; FUFA launched a master plan for the Uganda Cranes wich could see them throughout the AFCON campaigns. Back at home the reading is on the wall; accusation and counter accusation between the Chairman and the Vice-Chairman at the expense of beatiful game of soccer. Picture this, Mr. Nyamweya; out of the foreign coaches ever hired by FKF/KFF/FKL (whichever concerned), the only one who left an impeccable mark in Kenyan football is the late Mr. Reinhardt Fabish. And the story of Antoine Hey, Bernard Lama and Christine Chukwu is a success story of how foreign coaches can mismanage our National team and underperform. Mr. Chairman, ever wondered why a patriotic Kenyan cannot even mention five players from the National team. Reason..? Lack of consistency in the National team selection. Every foreign coach hired comes with his own myopic list of players, some of which have been dropped by there local clubs, not knowing that the raw and natural talent is back in the village.
