To park run or not park run that is the question. Whether tis nobler in the mind to run with a chest infection, or sit in bed wishing I had? Im a big fan of Preston Park Run. Its part of a network of volunteer run, local 5k races. Theres a great friendly, relaxed atmosphere with a range of abilities. Louise, my wife, and I take it in turns. Last week I stayed at home with my girls and she ran. Now its the week after chemo and the ideal time in my treatment cycle to be running well. I know what the sensible thing to do is. Its clear I should be resting up and getting over this bug. Im torn, because its chemo on Monday and Ill be in bed for days after. I have chemo every fortnight. The first week is tough, usually the week after Im feeling better. I call it my good week. Its the time I have for getting things done. But this hasnt really been a normal good week. Its been quite tough. Ive had this chest infection for about a week now. Its really wiped me out. Never mind, whatever I do Im very fortunate to even be considering running today. I forget how serious my illness is sometimes. Of it wasnt for the chemo side effects I wouldnt know I was ill. Not many people with terminal cancer can run. I can. Im very lucky indeed! :) To check out Preston Park Run check out the link: parkrun.org.uk/preston/
