AQUI ESTA EL REPORTE OFICIAL DE LO OCURRIDO EN LA PLAZA DE LA TERESITA SEGUN FOX 13: TAMPA (FOX 13) - Firefighters say a scooter shop was damaged during a smoky three-alarm blaze at the La Teresita Plaza on West Columbus Drive in Tampa. The blaze broke out after noon and immediately drew a crowd of onlookers. Heavy smoke pouring from the blaze was visible for miles. You could see a big cloud of black and flames fuming, recalled Christina Capdevila, who works nearby. We called 911. Our first instinct was to make sure everybody was OK. Firefighters say the blaze broke out behind the Bayside Scooter Shop and they immediately called for a second alarm in a successful bid to prevent it from spreading. There was only minor damage to the adjoining business. We have reports, and its under investigation, that they were using soldering equipment on a scooter when the fire broke out, Tampa Fire Rescue spokesman Henry Williams stated. TFR later confirmed that the work had ignited a gas tank on a scooter, which then spread to other scooters and grew from there. The plaza also houses a grocery store with the same name as the landmark Tampa restaurant, but they are not the same location.
