ARMS around Chickamauga tomorrow What is the event? A day of servant evangelism. Teams of volunteers will show God’s love in practical ways through various acts of service and look for opportunities to share the Good News. Who is it for? Community residents Who is providing services and volunteering? Church members/staff Care Ministries of Oakwood, such as Ministry of Hope, Food vouchers, CR Non-profit organizations who assist those in need, such as Center for Hope Area merchant/service companies: Dentist, Mechanics, etc… Community services, such as Walker Transit, crisis center, etc… When is it going to be? Saturday, August 10, 2013 ~ 8:30 am – 12 noon Where is the event going to take place? On the Chickamauga campus and around town. Volunteers will meet at the Chickamauga campus parking lot on Saturday morning @ 8:30 to rally together, get an Arms Around Chickamauga T-shirt and be encouraged by Pastor Allen. Following prayer, teams will disperse on campus and into the city to various (preplanned) areas to serve and love on the people of Chickamauga. Why is OBC doing this event? To demonstrate our faith and impact our city with Christ-like love ~ James 2:14-17 To love our neighbors as ourselves ~ Luke 10:27 On Campus Teams: Educational Care Team Backpack give- away, musical performance and magical entertainment (both faith-based, age-appropriate for kids 4 – 12yrs old) and a puppet show that will present the Gospel. Medical Care Team Free eye exams. hearing tests and ear exams, medical – vital checks, sport physicals, dental care (all including educational correspondence) Hair Care Team Free hair cuts (dry cut only) Feeding Team Serve snacks and drinks; food voucher table will be set up to give food vouchers for Chattanooga Food Bank Car Care Team Check oil, fluids, tires, lights, batteries and wipers, wash vehicles & vacuum, do car seat safety check
