In sane society, the government reign supreme, but empowers the sub-institutions with which it achieves its objectives. Education remains the path development; that is for an ambitious govt: education is an obstacle to the criminal mind. Both dally with education, the school has never produced an ardent patron, and the government has never accepted that education pays the best. The leaders are assumed to be the products of universities. Would it be fair to say that, the leaders bite the finger that fed them? What could swept off all that was imparted by the school? However, one party must accept blame for mass failure. Not far-fetched, our young graduates still visit spiritualists for - employment, marriage, even to be educated in the real sense. The school environment do not represent the citadel for education, but a jungle of no social order: antisocial students, flamboyant lecturers, and unhealthy language(pigin). System of administering education is untouchable in this case. The students are taught to cramm and copy, and avoid critical thinking. The system is not fashioned to produce an inventive minds. Sanity is not in our school and cannot be in the government yard. It is system and not lack of funding. The little that government invested in education are robbed from the students by uneducated magicians, it would not have been so, had the students were well informed. It means that ignorance still rule the so called men of letters. It is of the government to give a mandate to school for the standard they ought produce, but it would be when they have realized that it is only through education that a nation is properly led!
