AT THE FEET OF THE RABBI DAILY DEVOTIONAL 13TH SEPTEMBER 2014 JESUS THE SAME YESTERDAY, TODAY AND FOREVER “Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever” Hebrews 13:8. This should be great hope for us because if Jesus changes, we could not be sure what His reaction towards us will be tomorrow. Today, a man proposes love to a lady and few years later, same man proposes hatred to same woman. This is the variability of humanity but thank God for Jesus; He has a consistent nature through eternity. What this means is that if Jesus healed you in the past, you can be assured that your health is settled because He will not change from been the healer. It means that if Jesus blessed Abraham in the bible, He will bless you also today if you turn to Him for your needs. As believers, we should meditate on this word and allow it alter our ways of thinking especially in the areas of our needs. One of my daughters in the Lord sent me a message on how she have been stranded in her academics due to lack of helpers and as I counseled and encouraged her, the Lord quickened this scripture in my spirit and I said, “you will be sponsored effortlessly”. If Jesus ever gave someone a scholarship through the government, then He will do same for you. Few weeks later, she received a scholarship from the government and yes, it was a miracle! The secret of the miracle is the opening verse of today’s devotional, “Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever”. Whenever you hear a testimony of what Jesus did for or through someone, you can hold on to this scripture and expect same in your life as your needs apply. God is a good Father and if you study the scriptures in the light of the new covenant, you will realize that all your needs have been met already in Christ Jesus, you need to lay demands on them by the word of God’s promise. If He did it before, He will do it again. As you spend another weekend by His grace, spend today remembering all His good acts in the scriptures and all He has done for you and those you know around you in the past and begin to trust Him for you own testimony today. The target of the enemy is to take away your hope but you must never loss hope. Abraham waited in hope against all hope till his hope became a reality. “Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever” Close with this question from God: I am the LORD, the God of all mankind. Is anything too hard for me?” Jeremiah 32:27. Prayer: Jesus, I trust you again today to have the fullness of life in every aspect of my life. I receive fresh grace to trust you again. Amen. Key point: The target of the enemy is to take away your hope but you must never loss hope. Abraham waited in hope against all hope till his hope became a reality.
