ATTENTION 22 SKYVIEW OWNERSHIP/MANAGEMENT: This building has a lot - TopicsExpress

ATTENTION 22 SKYVIEW OWNERSHIP/MANAGEMENT: This building has a lot of potential but since it was opened in Sept 2013 (prematurely as construction was still being done) many of the tenants are very upset with the following issues: The walls between units lack sound proofing and its very easy to hear your neighbors speaking even in a low voice. Unit lines 10, 1 & 2 all suffer from noise coming from the elevators day & night. The building is getting filthy, after everyone moved in management has not touched up/repainted common areas especially in the hallways. They have also failed to get the carpeting in the hallways cleaned as they are dirty from all the late construction work and people moving in. Many tenants have/had issues with rushed/poor work in their units. This building has advertised/positioned itself as a Luxury Highrise building yet furnished the units with cheap black appliances. In addition the website and management promised a Fitness Center with State of the Art equipment. This was false advertising as it is basically a room with super cheap plastic equipment. The elliptical and treadmills squeak and feels like they are falling apart. Not to mention that no one has cleaned the gym....ever....there is dust and sweat marks on the bottom of the machines. All the other surfaces in the gym have not be cleaned and sanitized. Shouldnt a luxury apt building have contracted a company to come clean the gym and common areas on a regular basis? Also why not put some mirrors in the gym? We were promised a state of the art fitness center and thats part of the reason that many tenants signed a lease (never saw the gym before moving in because it wasnt ready). It seems that ownership has taken shortcuts in delivering a luxury building. They did not want to spend the additional money to sound proof the walls, install proper quality stainless steel appliances, proper state of the art gym equipment and hire responsive management or at least give the present management the tools and ability to be responsive and professional. Also many tenants are upset that the free guest parking that was advertised became free guest parking that is limited to two hours then your guest have to leave or go look for parking on the street....really? Who does that? That is so embarrassing. In addition they promised a social room which there is none and the pool deck area is lacking any real landscaping it just has a cold, industrial feel to it. Many tenants were sold short, we signed leases and it seems that we were over promised and under delivered. The tenants would like to have a voice and the ability to discuss all of our issues with the ownership. We have been ignored to date. We are asking for a forum to meet and discuss all the many issues we are having.
