ATTENTION ALL AMITE COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT PARENTS AND CONCERNED CITIZENS!! It has come to my attention that ACHS DOES NOT HAVE HEAT in the hallway, gym, and some classrooms. This is ridiculous. The district has over 45 million dollars from the interest of the oil money that can be spent. We cant spend the principle but we can spend the interest. Parents enough is enough. The hallway on the 7th and 8th grade side seems as if you are outside and the wind is blowing. The restrooms have no heat and windows that wont close. I can just imagine the few classrooms whos individual unit is broken. My GOSH the gym is an igloo! The 1960 boiler system busted that was in place at ACHS in April of this year... Its November why is there no heat. Why is there no back up plan in place until this could be fixed or replaced. As long as parents allow this to happen IT WILL! TONIGHT THE SCHOOL BOATD MEET AT 5pm ALL CONCERNED PARENTS AND CITIZENS SHOULD BE THERE. It being cold is no excuse, because our children will endure 7.5 mandatory hours of it Monday-Friday! Just the thought of it being colder tomorrow.
