ATTENTION! SCIENCE! [en] Guys, recently my interest was captured by a curious phenomena in science called cellular automata. You can find out more following the link below. The basic idea was first launched in early 50s, when the problem of creating complicated robots by simpler ones using finite algorithms was raised. Moreover, in this sort of cellular automata one is able to create his own Universe with particular laws of physics. mathworld.wolfram/CellularAutomaton.html mathworld.wolfram/ElementaryCellularAutomaton.html https://wolframscience/nksonline/toc.html The seek of necessary literature led me to myriads of books on classification and coding of these automata, however phenomenological fundamental research these algorithm properties were not carried out. Looking from a point of view of statistical physics and thermodynamics with further construction of phenomenology is a matter of interest, as nobody did that before. E.g., it would be interesting to define entropy and imply the second law of thermodynamics to somehow categorize these algorithms. Im fully obsessed with this idea during last several weeks, but, on the other hand I feel, that Im not able to go further alone. Hence Id like to ask, whether someone is interested in the distant research of this problem with me and other enthusiasts? Required knowledge: 1. Group and representation theory (basics) 2. Combinatorics and probability theory (desirable) 3. Statistical physics (desirable, but not necessary) 4. Wolfram Mathematica (any programming language would be ok) The knowledge of graph theory, discrete analysis and algorithms theory would be just great! Distant seminars would be carried out via Skype or Hangouts + personal meetings, if technically possible. I have no idea how far would that go, but still it is pretty interesting problem.
