About 1993 I was walking through a store in Centralia Washington called Yardbirds it was one of those stores that sell virtually everything from plumbing to appliances to toys to the occasional, well, its an interesting story if you dont like long posts go on to something else....or try FarmVille :P But this one is interesting... - - Still here? Cool. When you had to go, they directed you to the restroom in the back of the store, through the swinging doors and their inventory room. One day when I was there curiosity got the better of me, and I walked through their inventory department, and if I got caught, I would just say Im looking for the restroom. This happened in the days before eBay, I found this one box marked Bausch & Lomb, Rochester, New Yorkmarked on it....the box was already open, so I looked inside, and there were about 20 pairs of Ray-Ban wayfarers, with the holographic sticker on each one to show its authenticity. This was before they sold out to look a Chinese firm in 1999, so now all ray bans are made in China. Anyway one of the sales associates asked me what I was doing, and I said i need a pair of sunglasses can I buy these?He said, no that was go out on the sales floor in a couple days. I asked when, he said about a week from now I haunted the store...and sure enough, they were out on the floor...for get this...$12.00 each :O :O :O I bought 15 or so...for Christmas presents & all that. Damn.....they had at least 100 pairs...in real leather cases, which also had the Ray Ban logo on it....cleaning cloth...etc eBay came out in 1995 Wahhhhhhhhhhh!
