According to a study conducted by the Canadian Celiac Assoc. + Health Canada, it was found many people are still experiencing "frustration and isolation" even after being Gfree after several years. The study was based on nearly 6,000 participants and explores the emotional toll of living with the disease. About two-thirds of those on the GF diet for more than 5 yrs who responded to the survey were: 1) FRUSTRATED with others feeling sorry for them 2) EMBARRASSED by their dietary needs. 3) felt as though they were a BURDEN to others. 4) TROUBLE W/ FAMILY members or friends thinking “just a little” gluten wouldn’t be harmful. Question of the Day: Even after being Gfree for a few years, do you experience similar feelings as described in 1-4 .. maybe ALL, some or none? Share your feelings.
