Accreditation of Tour Guides, Accreditation of Hospitality guest houses and Bed/Breakfast, Restaurant services are urgently needed for tourism to grow. What we are offering is a profession being studied as a degree in some countries. When I was in the university some people studied home economics. That was because people got good jobs in hotels as managers. Unfortunately we have destroyed the hospitality business in this country. No one wants to learn how to cook or maintain a hospitality guest house. Our hotels and guest houses are managed by wives, sisters, brothers who know nothing about hospitality. Very often these hotels are run aground because there are no plans to promote tourism. Rather we treat hotels and guest houses as homes of iniquity. No wonder there are so many abandoned houses in some towns and villages. You can turn these houses to guest houses to accommodate tourists if you register with the Nigeria Cultural Circle guest house scheme.
