Administrative Internship Positions Available. Spirit of Atlanta is currently seeking highly motivated and passionate individuals who would like to join the 2014 administrative team. If you are a self-starter and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, then this internship is for you! Interns who work with Spirit gain valuable and practical, hands-on experience. This is an excellent opportunity for anyone interested in music education, nonprofit administration, event management, working in the live music industry, and many other fields. WHAT? Responsibilities in general but not limited to: Assisting the admin team with logistics of camps, spring training and tour including facility awareness/oversight during move-in, stay and check out. Assisting with transportation of staff & members to and from airports, medical appointments and general running of errands. Assist the kitchen team with daily grocery shopping, inventory of supplies, and food deliveries includes help with restocking of weekly orders. Assist with general administrative record keeping, filing and preparation of tour books. Assist with logistics of uniform cleaning, equipment storage and general performance needs. WHEN? The Spirit Summer Internship program is a full-time internship. Interns will begin work mid-May and it will last until mid-August, at the end of our Championship week in Indianapolis, Indiana. Need to be available from May 23rd , 2014 till August 10th, 2014. WHERE? Internships are currently available for the Spirit of Atlanta Drum and Bugle Corps, which is a national touring ensemble. We are based out of Atlanta, GA, but if you are selected for the position you would need to be able to travel with us throughout the summer. WHO SHOULD APPLY? Any person may apply for the internships, as there are no restrictions on college majors or educational experience. Drum Corps/Marching Band/Indoor experience is preferred but not required for this non-paid position. Because of the varied nature of the tasks involved with being on tour with the Spirit, applicants should be: 21 years or older. Valid drivers license with good driving record. Ability to lift at least 50lbs. Own your own laptop with knowledge of Microsoft office programs. Available for entire summer May 22 – August 10, 2014 COMPENSATION? Depending on your institution you may be eligible to receive college credit. All interns will get four meals a day while on tour, free travel on our coaches, and admission to DCI and Spirit related events. HOW DO I APPLY?
