Admittedly Im close to the issue and my view comes with my own lens, so for a really excellent overview of the longterm history, policy, and cultural issues involved from a more academic and nuanced perspective, Kristine Haglunds piece is excellent. So are the recent RadioWest interviews covering the issue, which Ill link separately below. I think its best, after providing context to let individuals and experts speak so after this Ill be doing my best to back away from public commentary for a while.
