After The Love Is Gone. In the wake of the new offensive and egregious attack that Ray Rice levied on his once fiancée and now wife, he is lest of a man to me. What the NFL finally decided to do is the right thing. Domestic violence can happen to anyone, regardless of gender, race, or ethnicity. Many factors can go into sparking a conversation that can easily spiral out of control. But no matter how heated the conversation can escalate too, no man has the right to put his hand on a woman. What Mr. Rice did to the woman that he proclaim to love left me angry and upset with the bad decision that he participated in. I’m saying this because I understand the level of anguish and the dark place that a man can find himself in when facing his bruise ego or having his manhood challenged. See I can speak about this because I was not only pushed to the brink, but I was tossed over the edge when I came home and found another man in my house. You have to keep in mind that I had the law on my side when it comes to a situation like this, I could have done anything that I wanted to do to them and I would have been released without any charges being filed by the Police because she brought the threat to my house. This type of situation is the lowest of the lows that a man can find him-self in. It’s also the ultimate in disrespect that a he has come face to face with when you know that you did everything in your power to keep your spouse happy. A man’s home is everything to him. It’s an institution of refuge for family living. When all of these securities are breeched there is no were else for him to go. He becomes paranoid and untrusting of the next female in his next relationship. The first thing that engulfs a man’s ego like I said earlier is the impulse of being disrespected. Now this lead to the second stage of being dehumanized and that’s being humiliated and having his dignity ripped from him. This opens the door that leads down that dark tunnel of having a strong feeling of annoyance, and displeasure. Soon after those emotions line up, then the perpetrator is engulf in the sweet pleasure of what I call lust (revenge) that unleashed an immediate craving for rage. Now this is where the beast within comes out. Through rage, a man’s soul starts feeding on an uncontrollable resentment for the person that’s in your cross hairs or in the line of FIRE. Everything that was in me was gone. It had all spilled out when I was confronted with this situation. Man -- you hear all kind of voices in your head giving you negative advice trying to get me to act on the influence that was facing me. I tried to live a simple life but the dark place that I found myself in did not reflect well in my sight. Let’s face it; I could not have got out of this alone. It took an act God to make my crooked path at that moment straight. Through all of those negative impulses that was plaguing me at that moment. It was a calm one that my spirit gravitated too and took control of my soul which brought me back from the brink. When a man feels this, he has to quickly figure how to find strength which will lead to him finding his way out. That’s what I had to do when I found myself in a situation like that. I am glad today that I did not lay a hand on my now ex knowing the damage that I could have caused her. To God be the glory. If I’m able to walk away from a situation like that, I know other guys can. Ive learned that after the love is gone, you can find it again.
