After a lovely lunch at the City Club featuring speaker Mark Leno, I stopped for a ginger chai on Market Street and started to snap a picture of a glorious San Francisco day. Suddenly, a chase, then two figures wrestling on the plaza tiles! Then a woman shouting, "Give me my phone!" Turns out, a young man had grabbed her phone and run; the driver of a limo/hired car parked nearby, gave chase and caught him. Another passerby found the discarded phone (after the woman searched the young man vigorously for her property!) The punk jumped up, adjusted his shorts, his baseball cap and strolled west on Market like nothing had happened. The woman thanked the guy who had given chase; he went back to his car as as someone else exclaimed, "You got him? AWESOME!" The rest of us blinked and blended back into the cityscape. Time elapsed: less than a minute.
