After a six-game losing streak, the Giants roared back tonight with a 6-4 triumph over the Arizona Diamondbacks at Chase Field. The G-Men took charge in the opening frame when back-to-back-to-back singles by Hunter Pence, Buster Posey and Pablo Sandavol off Diamondback starter Brandon McCarthy sent Pence across the plate, and Tyler Colvins ensuing single drove in Posey and Sandavol, giving the Giants a 3-0 lead. The Giants added a run in the second inning on Poseys double and Sandavols single (thankfully, the team had its mojo working - no more bad juju)... The Dbacks bounced back with two runs in the bottom of the inning, but Brandon Crawford led off the fifth with a triple, and scored on Colvins groundout. The Dbacks countered with two runs, when Aaron Hills single to right field drove in Jordan Pacheco and Julius Gregorius. Then in the sixth inning Pence put the game on ice with a towering, tape-measure 440ft. drive into the second deck... Ryan Vogelsong earned the win with five solid innings yielding four runs on five hits with three punch-outs. Jeremy Affeldt, Jean Machi, and Santiago Casilla were sharp in relief, but Sergio Romo, who closed out the ninth inning, ran into a bit of trouble when Roger Kieschnick doubled to deep center field, and Giants tormenter, Paul Goldschmidt stepped up to the plate. Bruce Bochy conferred with Romo on the mound, placing his hands on Romos shoulders as if to say: you are going to pitch to this guy and you are going to get him out. And that is precisely what Romo did, inducing a game ending fly ball to Hunter Pence, and garnering his 21st save in the process...The Giants are now 44-30 for the season, collecting 12 hits in the game, with the killer Ps doing most of the damage. Vogedlsongs record is now 5-3...The series ends tomorrow afternoon with Madison Bumgarner shooting for his ninth win against Diamondbacks hot shot Mike Bolsinger. Then on Tuesday night the Giants host the San Diego Padres back home at AT&T Park, where they will be for the rest of the month. In the meantime, as always, Go Gigantes!
