After an astounding amount of sleep Im back up and live on the internet. And... now that Ive seen the Star Wars teaser I can afford to interact with nerds again without spoiling something that might actually surprise me. I like the teaser. Not sure I *love* it - mainly because it lacks a coherent narrative throughline. Im probably expecting a little too much from an 88-second *teaser* but you know, after 30-odd years since a (decent) Star Wars movie, I think were all due, right? Still, its mighty pretty. It conveys a fantastic sense of kinetic, visually pristine energy that I can still parse - something I think the prequels lack most of the time. Its the Star Wars we all love (mostly). The machines actually feel like machines rather than cartoons! Theres a hint of gray in both the palette *and* the characters! Things are dirty again! Yay! For now, Im satisfied. Its plenty enough to keep me happy until the madness of next years promotional push. Halfway through that Im sure well all want to commit seppuku with the nearest crystal-fed hand weapon, no matter how many directions it points in.
