After another push trip to Happy Top Horror Hole, Jon Mnich and I (but mainly Jon) managed to dig through the low windy dig at the end and find more neverending horror on the other side. Jon explored it since I didnt have a wet suit but, the dig turns into a 7.25ft tall bedding plane cobble crawl in water for 100ft before opening back up into 12ft tall and 4-5ft wide stream passage dropping down another 10ft drop and then a 15ft drop. The cave also runs into another large in feeding stream that doubles its water. This new stream is of interest since it may be Jewett Cave or even Jewett Two Cave (Happy Top Horror Hole may have broken through the Hartselle in one of the last two drops though I could not confirm). If this is Jewett Cave or Jewett Two Cave and if we did connect the two then we would have a new almost 800ft deep cave which would make the Happy Top/Jewett Cave System the 3rd deepest in Tennessee and the 4th deepest in TAG! Jon stopped when he reached a going hands and knees crawl downstream after roughly 500ft of passage and an estimated 60ft of additional depth.. That brings the estimated length of Happy Top Horror Hole to: 6500ft and the estimated depth to: 460ft with 8 pits... Anybody who wants to help out with the survey, Matt Tomlinson has been in charge of that so far. This cave is never ending and still has lots of unexplored passage!
