After hearing the channel 3 editorial tonight saying there has been no justice in Ferguson, I had to pause and write. Heres what I have to say. As a Chief Petty Officer leading physical training in 1999, I was assaulted by one of my trainees. With the help of all five of my assistants we subdued the assailant. With six written statements by the leaders and the statement by the assailant, I was charged with assault and transferred. I didnt have to face trial as it was his word against mine, not enough evidence. The only justice I enjoyed was the month before I transferred he assaulted another instructor and was discharged. When I read all the written statements, no two were alike.
