After massive protests on 27th July in power corridors of Lutyens - TopicsExpress

After massive protests on 27th July in power corridors of Lutyens zone which stunned even Delhi Police, the 2nd phase of our agitation is going in Mukherjee Nagar against flawed, arbitrary, unreasonable and unfair method adopted by UPSC in Civil Services examination which resulted in the consistent decline in recruitment of bureaucrats from non English medium over the years. Civil Services used to be the biggest platform to bridge the gap between Bharat and India but the current trend is raising a larger question that are Indias institutions of public service are becoming elitist in nature on the name of Aptitude required by globalization needs ? If honesty and efficiency are the two biggest qualities of a bureaucrat, does UPSC want to say that students of non English backgrounds lack them ? We are not against English as a language but we are against what Lord Macaulay pointed out as his aim for Brown Saheb i.e. Bureaucrats : Indians by colours and Britishers by taste We have gathered enough evidence against those methods which favors a section of students thereby denying level playing field in selection of All India Services. We urge all to oppose this unjustifiable method and demand its rectification.
