After meeting and hearing Rep. Amash discuss serious problems facing our country, I was impressed by his consistent hard work, honesty and willingness to stand for what he considers right. Viewing the ads by Brian Ellis, I can no longer be silent. I see no vision by Brian Ellis as to handling problems, only his attack on Amash, which clearly twists issues for political spin. Name calling and misrepresenting is the gist of the ad Brian Ellis posts against Justin Amash about Guantanamo Bay. Ellis does not respond to the reason Amash voted the way he did. Brian does not say why he would be a better representative to Congress in this district. Resorting to false labeling and accusations seems to be his focus. An article by Andrew Kreitz slants the facts by Ellis; billing Justin Amash as ‘Al Qaeda’s best friend is definitely incorrect and defaming of the character of Amash. Recently, Justin Amash was open and honest in answering questions at a county seat townhall meeting in Hastings. We need more hard working representatives who actually read the proposals they vote on and show up consistently to truly research and vote according to conscience. I applauded you, Justin Amash, at the close of the meeting, as I am proud of your character and honesty in representing the right thing to do. Gladys Yonker Woodland
