After much prayer, I decided to go to Atlanta to see Phylicia Rashad and Kenny Leon in the 1975 play, Same Time Next Year at the Southwest Arts Center. The play was excellent and the chemistry between Phylicia and Kenny was awesome. This was the first time that African Americans had portrayed Doris and George in this two person cast. I recommend seeing this production before it closes August 3rd. After the 11 oclock performance there was a talk back session and I moved to the front row and sat next to writer Pearl Cleage, I was able to meet her. Kenny Leon started the session while Ms. Rashad changed. When Phylicia arrived on stage she recognized me and even gave me a shout out. I was so Blessed and Honored that she remembered me from sitting beside her at Holler in June. We talked afterwards and the Lord Blessed me with safe travels there and back. His Name be Praised!!
