After taking the weekend off I bring you day 8 of the #justbepresent Instagram yoga challenge. The pose for today is Vasisthasana or Side Plank. For the variation in the video, first come into side plank. Bend the knee of your top leg and grab the big toe with your first two fingers and thumb. Straighten your lifted arm and leg as much as possible. Keep the gaze up and the chest open. Let go of your toe and do the pose on the other side. Side plank poses target the gluteal muscles, obliques, quadriceps, hamstrings, thigh abductors and adductors. It also improves core strength; this means increased core stability...plus its super fun! @kinoyoga @beachyogagirl @aloyoga
